Martin Hickman Outstanding Scholar Award recipient Spencer James, family life professor, will address the need to broaden our study of families globally. Uniting truths from "The Family: A Proclamation to the World" with cutting-edge family research will allow us to better support children's development, maintain stable family structures, and foster thriving communities even amidst the uncertainties and transformations of our changing world.

Chris Karpowitz and Jeremy Pope present a lecture on "The Paradox of American Family Politics" for the annual Virginia F. Cutler Lecture in the School of Family Life. Their presentation is based on data gathered from 10 years of conducting the American Family Survey.
